Incredibly frustrating to use, you can’t simply weigh something. You need to wait for it to turn on and then weigh something and then wait like 30 seconds for the scale to turn off before doing it all over again. Who designed this thing?

While this has the same solid construction and easy access for 5 users as the excellent HD-324, it sadly only remembers users height for the dubious BMI calculation, leaving the user to try to remember or record their weight and/or BMI each time. I can’t believe that in the 21st century there’s a device that can only store/recall one setting per user. The price is very reasonable for the solid unit and having a physical button for each user is the reason I chose to go again with Tanita, but the inability to recall weight or even BMI each time seems like an odd choice, especially seeing most people’s height tends not to vary noticeably.
While they have much more expensive models that may or may not display stored weight for each user (it’s difficult to ascertain from the descriptions), selecting a user is unnecessarily irritating, requiring multiple selections/button presses rather than the instant selection that was available in the HD-324.

Really frustrating that there’s no simple “dumb scale” mode. Having to press a 1-5 button, wait and then weigh is annoying. What’s worse is having to wait 10 seconds for the measurement to disappear and have to do it all over again.
Do not buy this scale if you want to weigh many things in a short period of time. You’ll go insane waiting and not weighing!

This is my second set of Tanita scales. My first set I bought well about 12 years ago...and then I stored them for a couple of years before pulling them out recently to the dreaded error message, which I could not fix. And while we would love to think everything will last forever, getting ten years good use out of my first set was enough for me to go down the Tanita highway again, especially after a cheap set bought recently made me lose or gain kilos in the matter of seconds. These scales are accurate, and you can weigh yourself a couple of times in a row and its the same. Not a fan of how they come to a point in the middle..but am getting used to it.
